Fun at the Intersection Between Science and Spirituality

For those who enjoy learning about the ways science and spirituality are finally meeting up, you will likely enjoy this interview with Federico Faggin, the Italian physicist/engineer who invented some of internal parts of computers we use everyday. He had a powerful spontaneous awakening back in the ‘90s that showed him consciousness was not produced by the brain, and that he was not a contained “I” of the body; instead it’s all field…field…field.

His way of describing things like the nature of consciousness (dynamic, holistic, seeks to know itself), infinite being (One begets One perpetually) and free will (spoiler, it’s the field’s will, not the false “I”) is fun to hear if for no other reason than his words/perspectives are flowing through the science community and pissing off traditional materialists. 😃 (I have two undergrad degrees from University of Arkansas, one of which is in biology/chemistry. My arrogantly racist, misogynist science professors would have raged at Faggin’s theories, since materialist science can be used to affirm their assumed superior intellect, and quantum theory of consciousness cannot.)

Faggin addresses one or two things that I’d love to chat with him about over an expresso to shed some light on what he hasn’t quite gotten a firm grip on yet (e.g. shared consciousness and telepathy), but overall he’s got a novel way of describing quantum physics and consciousness, and I think you will enjoy him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FUFewGHLLg&list=WL&index=3

Caution: don’t get hung up on trying to understand every single thing he’s saying; I’m sharing this only to show there’s another potent voice dissolving old paradigms from within old systems, not for you to learn about qubits and Holevo’s theorem!

Big love,

Mary
