In December 2000, I was a staunchly agnostic healthcare executive in Washington, DC when I began veering uncontrollably into metaphysical experiences with Jesus, Buddha, and angels. After 10 years of confusion trying to understand what was happening, my “normal” life collapsed. 

Fortuitously, at the lowest point of my despair I was invited to the Himalayas and ended up living in a tiny Buddhist nunnery for years coming to terms with my unexpected mystical abilities. That story is the basis of my first book, Unwitting Mystic.

Today I am a joy-centered mystic wisdom guide and channeler, using my profound experiences and abilities as both a road map and an invitation into the higher consciousness available to all now. I am assisted and accompanied in this work by my spirit (and spirited) guides, Consensus, as well as my dear friends Corene Crossin and Lisa Dewey. Together we don’t just offer awakened perspectives on ancient spiritual wisdom, we offer the experiential application — the present moment living — of that wisdom.

I am a spiritual guide, licensed psychotherapist, and clinical hypnotherapist based in Australia. My path to integrating psychotherapy and spirituality has been shaped by profound mystical experiences and awakenings, including the dissolution of my sense of self and a realization of being as All That Is. Through extensive inner exploration with Jungian depth psychology and Buddhist, Vedantic, and Sri Vidya traditions, I know firsthand the essential importance of love, embodied compassion, and integration on the spiritual path.

As a therapist, I specialize in Internal Family Systems and transpersonal psychology, bridging therapeutic skill with presence attuned to the greater field of Being to create a compassionate space where clients can open to their inner truth and integrate profound spiritual experiences. I offer IFS therapy, hypnotherapy for spiritual development, and field attunement sessions through my website www.theilluminatedself.com. I am the co-author of Divine New Being with Mary Reed, and together we facilitate the Embodied Radiance: Living as the Field course, where I bring my unique gift for holding presence, guiding integration, and inviting participants to rest into the unfolding of Being.

For many years, I experienced profound yet intermittent spiritually transformative events. But everything changed in an instant April 24, 2024. After watching a documentary on Ramana Maharshi and learning about his teaching of self inquiry, I laid down to sleep and said, “Okay, Ramana: who am I?” Immediately a vast energy filled my entire being, and over the next several hours I experienced a complete dissolution of the small self. My Lisa Dewey “I” identity fell away entirely. 

This life-altering reorientation unraveled my sense of normalcy for weeks and required months of integration before I could fully re-engage with the world from a grounded place of wholeness. Today, I continue to acclimate to living in a state of unitive consciousness, which I refer to as Pure Presence—a state effortlessly accessible and ever-unfolding.

In this clarified state I hold a uniquely potent and still Field presence; like a tranquil lake into which all energies can flow and find depth, alignment and balance. The wisdom I convey from this exquisite state rings with piercing resonance because the truth I speak from, about, and with meets the vibration of truth in others.

During a meditation with Corene in April 2020, Mary felt her personal energy within her throat chakra literally pulled to the side to make way for an enormous collective of Divine beings that came into her awareness and began narrating profound perspectives. Mary experienced the beings filling a stadium, and collectively they called themselves Consensus, saying that, “Like all beings, the energies of the Divine entities that gather in this stadium are all unique in our patterns, flow, and experiences. But when we all come together, our uniqueness creates a kind of Divine harmony — a consensus vibration — and we become the highest note possible in the moment.”

The collective Consensus flow is what Mary channels in all her satsangs, workshops, retreats, and private sessions. The beings or energies who are in stadium differs with every gathering. Some people experience the masters such as Jesus and Buddha, while others meet their loved ones or soul groups or guides.

I’m very excited to be supporting the wonderful Happy Easy Life team and getting to know all of you in this joyful, uplifting community! You’ll find me here to lend a hand, untangle tech mysteries, and quietly work behind the scenes to help keep everything running smoothly.

After escaping the corporate world, I happily landed in freelance life as a virtual solutions guru with a serious love of learning and the anything new. These days I blend strategic problem-solving and creative design with all the things that inspire me: friends, family, travel, meeting new people, nature, creative photography, fabric design, and a seemingly endless collection of creative tangents that continue to inspire me… and slowly take over my closets.

With a background ranging from customer service, hospitality, community organization and tech, I am a creative swiss army knife of passions and interests. I like to wander my way through life collecting skills, exploring ideas, and trying on different hats to see which ones fit best.

I am grateful to provide digital support and design to the WOW community because I love supporting people and communities who aim to help make the world a more loving place. When I’m not at my computer, I prefer to be in my natural habitat, surrounded by nature (often singing to myself). I can usually be found playing in my kitchen, gardening, foraging, DIY-ing, practicing yoga, or hanging out with my 3 guinea pigs.
